Susan Eng

Susan Eng is Vice President for Advocacy at CARP, where she has helped to shape the public discourse on issues such as pension reform, investor protection, mandatory retirement, workplace age discrimination, home care and age friendly cities.

As former Chair of the Metropolitan Toronto Police Services Board during the early 90’s, Eng tackled sensitive issues of public accountability, police use of force, anti-racism, fiscal responsibility, and initiated groundbreaking policy and organizational changes.   Recently, as co-chair of the Ontario Coalition of Chinese Head Tax Payers and Families, Eng successfully campaigned for a Parliamentary apology and redress for 62 years of legislated racism under the Head Tax and Exclusion Acts.

A longtime and prominent contributor to the community, Eng has worked with the Urban Alliance on Race Relations, the YWCA of Greater Toronto and has been a founding member of the Chinese Canadian National Council and the Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care as well as a long standing board member.
