Andre Picard

André Picard is The Globe and Mail’s health columnist and the author of four books. Among his accolades, he was named Canada’s first “Public Health Hero” by the Canadian Public Health Association and the top health reporter in the Americas by the Pan-American Health Organization. André is a seven-time finalist for the National Newspaper Awards, Canada’s version of the Pulitzer Prize. In 2012, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his lifelong dedication to improving healthcare.

André is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and Carleton University, and holds an honourary doctorate from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
